St. Nicholas Byzantine: The Ceiling

The icons on the ceiling of the nave are of St. John Chrysostom and St. Basil the Great (authors of the two Liturgies for them), St. Macrina (St. Basil’s sister), St. Helena (mother of Emperor Constantine the Great), and the Protection of the Mother of God, showing her holding her veil in protection over the churches of St. Michael Parish and St. Nicholas Parish.

The Greek letters MP OY are an abbreviation for the Greek words for Mother of God.
